Salted ricotta - box

This box by Azienda Agricola Mura contains a form of salted ricotta and a jar of ricotta, both made from sheep's milk. Salted ricotta differs from fresh ricotta because of its drier consistency and its stronger flavour. It is produced using the classic outcropping process and before the ricotta is stuffed into twigs, sea salt is added. After, each form is smoked and matured. Salted ricotta can be enjoyed naturally, as a classic cheese, or used as a condiment for first courses or salads. Excellent as an aperitif, very tasty with croutons of carasau or guttiau bread.
