The passion for the sea of his beloved Sardinia led the entrepreneur Leopoldo Casti to study an innovative method of processing seawater for food use. In 2016 he involved his family in the Marentia project, for sale of sea water for food use. Thanks to the patents and certifications obtained, Marentia preserves the authenticity of the natural sea water, for a creative culinary art. The name of this jewel of nature, Marentìa, derives from the union of the words mare and “quinta essentia” (quintessence), it recalls the Sardinian language in phonetics, revealing the most intimate and fascinating part of Sardinia, one of the oldest lands in the Mediterranean.
