Agricola Zara is a small winery that cultivates historic Sulcis vineyards of Carignano. The owners use the “free foot” vine plantation technique, continuing the work of their great-grandparents, grandparents and parents. The vineyards are located in Sant’Antioco, on sandy soils, with very low yields per hectare. Following a selection of the handpicked grapes is a careful winemaking process made by expert winemakers, to give the consumer a quality wine. The soils in Sulcis on which the free-footed vineyards lie are also called "rare soils", as those vines survived the great devastation of European vineyards by phylloxera.
