Coro di Nuoro Nuoro

The Nuoro Choir was founded in 1952 and has given numerous concerts all over the world. Since 1963 it has been directed by Gian Paolo Mele, the first Maestro and Father of Folklore in Sardinia. Many choirs throughout the island have been born inspired by listening to his songs, which have also been interpreted by world-famous musicians. Since 2018, the Choir has continued its activities conducted by Gian Paolo's son, Francesco Mele. In 2019 the Nuoro Choir paid tribute, together with Paolo Fresu, to Gian Paolo Mele in the short animation film "Ninna nanna de Anton'Istene - Malos bisos e tancas fioridas" illustrated by Manuelle Mureddu. In 2020 the book "Coro Anninnò - tredici canti scelti e cantati dal Coro di Nuoro" was published, illustrated by Manuelle Mureddu and edited by Teresa Porcella.
