In October 1999 Pina Corriga, after graduating from the Oristano State Art Institute and a ceramic course at the same institute, opened her Simaxis's first ceramic laboratory called "Mediterraneum Fictilia". In 2000 she started to participate in some local exhibitions for the development of Sardinian’s artistic craftsmanship. In addition to the her presence to the Fiera Internazionale della Sardegna, which has become an annual event since 2005, she always has her own stand at Milano’s Artigiano Fiera. In 2007 Pina was at Genoa’s Tesori della Ceramica. In 2008, she stood at the MACEF in Milan. In 2010 she participated in an exhibition at the National Library of Vienna and in the Italian Expò at the Chicago Fair Center. The lab mainly produces stylish items and accessories. The focus of Mediterraneum Fictilia is mostly on the needs and tastes of contemporary society and the constant search for good taste and modernity in order to create a perfect blend with Sardinia's tradition and ethnicity.
