Mendula, our entirely family-run small company, was founded at the end of 2014 in the historic centre of Sorradile, a small town of Barigadu’s territory overlooking Lake Omodeo. We have recovered an ancient and traditional recipe for the production of almond liqueur, and revitalized it in a modern way. In Sorradile it’s common to collect almonds for the production of sweets. During weddings, in addition to sweets, was offered the almond liqueur, hydroalcoholic infusion formed by a mixture of sweet and bitter almonds, which were dipped in wine brandy. Our commitment for the future is to restore the cultivation of the almond tree in our territory for the biological production of the liqueur.
