Sa Laurera Farm was born in 2013 in the beautiful Marmilla, precisely in Villanovaforru, from an idea of Marianna Virdis and her husband Francesco Mascia, with the aim of creating an eco- sustainable rural reality. Indeed, Marianna and Francesco cultivate respecting the biological rhythms of plants and animals. They keep alive the typical parcel organization of their territory, surrounded by hedges, woods and ecological corridors essential to the balance of the eco system, by rotating crops and always keeping part of each field at rest and in the wild. Sa Laurera does not use any kind of synthetic chemicals, fertilizers and herbicides. Moreover, the method of cultivation is without water, in arid cultivation, educating plants to grow and produce in non-irrigated fields. Sa Laurera farm recovers and chooses local, ancient and traditional varieties.
