Vitivinicola Alberto Loi is a complete wine chain company created in the late 1940s by Alberto. He was born in a family from Jerzu that has been producing Cannonau since the early twentieth century. Today, leading the winery are the third and fourth generations of the family. The main estate with the cellar is located in Cardedu (Ogliastra, east of Sardinia), an area considered the ideal territory for Cannonau grapes. Over the years, as the company grew, so did the cultivated lands. Besides the Cardedu estate, there are now the historical one in Jerzu countryside, and the more recent one in Sarrabus. In the latter, Cannonau vineyards and other indigenous Sardinian grapes have been integrated: Vermentino, Nasco, Moscato, Monica, Carignano, Muristellu, used in the company wines both alone and in blends.
