Description
The apotropaic mask of San Sperate made in the ceramic laboratory of Margherita Pilloni is a reproduction of the ancient Phoenician-Punic mask found in 1876 and currently kept in the National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari. The apotropaic mask was thought to be able to ward off evil presences. Today it’s still a very popular superstitious object. Modeled and decorated by hand, the apotropaic mask of San Sperate is made of semi-refractory red, and is enamel black with red shades that highlight its grinning expression. Available in three dimensions
