Nuragic jug with ribs

The nuragic jug with ribs of the Villa Abbas Cooperative is a ceramic made using the ancient "colombino" manufacturing technique. The dark brown color is obtained through redox firing. The artifact represents the reworking of an askoid jug decorated with ribs and circles from the Archaeological Area of S. Anastasia di Sardara and dedicated to the Cult of water. Its dating dates back to the 9th - 8th century. BC (Nuragic civilization) and can be traced back to the Iron Age. The original is on display at the "Villa Abbas" Civic Archaeological Museum in Sardara. The object is made entirely by hand.
