La Biblioteca dell'identità presents "The error. Beniamino Zuncheddu - story of an innocent man sentenced to life imprisonment" by Maria Francesca Chiappe. Three dead and one injured: it was dawn on January 9, 1991, the terrible discovery was made by the victims' wives. The survivor is unable to recognize the killer because his face was covered by a woman's stocking. He tells this to a policeman in the ambulance and also to the journalists who interview him in the hospital. But, a few days later, he changes his story and declares that he lied out of fear, in reality he saw the killer's face and is even able to recognize him through a photograph. Thus, on the evening of February 28, the servant shepherd of Burcei Beniamino Zuncheddu was arrested. He is 27 years old and declares his innocence. A model prisoner, after many years he asks for mercy but is denied. He always hopes for a review of the trial until it turns out that the survivor of the massacre and main witness in the case did not see the killer's face, contrary to what was claimed. The other witness also admits that he did not witness the threats. The two pillars of the accusation fall and Beniamino Zuncheddu is acquitted. 33 years have passed.
