Asphodel Honey

Casa Bonaria produces asphodel honey. Asphodel is a typically Mediterranean plant widespread by extension especially in Sardinia, where the most significant productions of this honey come from. It is a light or very light colored honey, crystallized and tends towards white with mother-of-pearl reflections with a weak or medium intensity odor and aroma. It tends to crystallize forming fine crystals. On the nose it is reminiscent of asphodel flower, but also of almond, chamomile and citrus fruit. The taste recalls sweets such as cotton candy and vanilla but without being cloying. In Sardinia it is used for the preparation of desserts and gala dishes.
