The Agricola Eredi Meloni farm was founded in the Bolotanese hills in the centre of Sardinia, 500 metres above sea level, and it has been involved in sheep farming since its origins. In 2017 the company began to differentiate its production by planting thirty thousand saffron bulbs and depositing the "Agrinoa" trademark. The saffron production process is carried out completely manually, from sowing to harvesting and grazing. The drying process is carried out using special dryers, at a temperature not exceeding 35 degrees ventilated. Harvesting and cleaning are done by fifteen people, in a moment of aggregation that involves family and friends. The Agricola Eredi Meloni farm saffron processing (organic although not yet certified) is long and accurate: to produce one gram of saffron you have to collect up to one hundred and fifty flowers!
