RisOristano is a historic farm in San Vero Milis since the 19th century. Marcello Stara continues the family tradition with rice cultivation, already experienced in the area and then abandoned. At the foot of Montiferru, the soil is very suitable for this kind of cultivation, because it consists of clay layers that retain water well. The salty air coming from the nearby sea, the volcanic soil, the particular microclimate and the sun give to the rice a particular aroma and a superior quality. RisOristano strives to cultivate in the respect of nature, minimizing the use of synthetic products and water consumption, and using recycled paper for labels.
